Secondyear student heading into midterms!

The second year students are well on their way to finishing up this course.
We take our exams April 13 and 14.
Here are some more recent projects.

This student was commenting on her love of Christina Aguilara and he total dissapointment in the latest album. (Very much a part of her own personal culture.)

This piece connected batman with an indigenous legend about how bats are related to the light.

This piece was about "fear" and this particular artist is colorblind and could not distinguish the reds/oranges/blues.

This artist originally was focused on Fantasy and Reality, however she has recently been more focused on the Reality part of her investigation. She has discovered that she is a political person with ideas about the world and what is happening (and what should be done about it...). This particular piece is about bi-polar disorder.

A student's pantry done in pastels. A comment on personal culture...

A rasta inspired project, referencing the Zion Lion.

Heading into midterms

Here are some works by first year students...the first, and most recent, project is based on the work of Roy Lichtenstein.

This is a painting of a student's sister and frog.

This is a project from a  little earlier in the year when students were focused on learning how to manipulate acrylic paint.
All of these images were created with acrylic paint on canvas and measure 18x24.
