Here is what an IB page looks like...really they are sketchbook pages on steroids!

Year 2 Renaissance inspired project

Our most recent projects are paintings inspired by the Renaissance masters. Here are a couple of pics of students work that is happening right now!

Another Graf project...

One student was inspired by the work of Shepard Fairey...
and made a work about Lady Gaga.

Children chasing their monsters

One student asked her friends to draw their childhood monsters...

Here they are being chased through the school by their children.

Here is another "graffiti" project by a year 2 IB student. It was installed briefly in the hallways of the school? Are the planes attacking or protecting the city. What does it mean to be at war?

Year one IB art students are working to develop their art skills, exploring different media, and getting to know what iit takes to really SEE an object. This student had a MAJOR breakthrough while using pastels. She found the courage to really use color and contrast to make her object feel three dimensional.

The first images are of a cartoon cat...photocopied 35 times, one for each dissected cat in Anatomy Class. The students then marked on the graffiti to give each cat a name...

The second project was in response to the firefighters who let a house burn to the ground with pets in it because the owners didn't pay a $75 fee...

Students got their lockers burned if they didn't pay a fee...
My second year IB Art students have been working on graffiti art projects...here are some of them installed in the school.
